Famous
worldwide for its wines, Italy, is second to none in
scenery and tradition. A trip through the Italian
vineyards, (each one of the 20 Regions in Italy produces
wine, including
the islands of Sicily and Sardinia), and
more than 2,000 grape varieties.
Organized Wine Tours
An organized Tour of wineries is probably the best
bet. We can arrange anything from a day-trip to a
tour of several days
which include meals and
accommodations along the way. From
Northwest Italy the Piedmont Region (with Top red
wines), via Lombardy
Region (Franciacorta wines) to Veneto Region (Soave-Valpolicella-Bardolino-Prosecco)
to Northeast Italy,
the Friuli Region, ( with the Top italian white wines).
Visiting an Italian winery can be arranged in advance. In a few days, you can visit 2 or 3
wine Regions with many wineries which open their doors
to visitors or you can
have a 15 day organized Tour to
explore, from the vineyards of Friuli to the wine
cellars of Piedmont, wine tasting in the Veneto and
Tuscany Regions, combining wine, gastronomy
and culture.
Italy Wine Regions
A list of Italy’s wine-producing regions reads
like a regular Italian map - from the Top Italian White
wine producers in Friuli to the top red wine producers
in Piedmont in the north,
to top italian suite wines of
Sicily in the south. Some Regions are more famous than
others - like the Chianti Region for white wines in
Tuscany or the red Barolo wine producers
of the
Piedmont.

Open Cellars Day
Wine enthusiast? There is a annual event called “Cantine
Aperte” (means Open Cellars). It’s hold every year when wineries
throughout
the country throw open their doors in a kind of open
house. Visitors can see how the wine is made, sample it
and even taste other local products like chees, olive oil, smoked
ham, speck... Cantine Aperte takes place in May each year.
